Are you excited to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference and what motivated you to join our community of 150,000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?

Absolutely! I am thrilled to speak at one of the largest conferences that unites 100,000 women in tech. I am beyond grateful to share the stage with such knowledgeable speakers who are pioneers in their fields. For me, it's not just about giving a talk; it's about being part of a community where we can connect, learn from each other, and lift each other. Women in Tech community does an incredible job of connecting diverse professionals worldwide to make tech a more inclusive and supportive industry, which aligns very closely with my values. It's truly fulfilling when you are part of a community with a higher purpose and lasting impact—that's why I joined this fantastic group.

Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?

I have always been amazed at how technology can solve tough challenges and could drive more intelligent decisions. Throughout my childhood, I have been curious about electronics and how they worked. That curiosity pulled me in the direction of earning a bachelor of engineering in electronics and computer science. The best part of my undergraduate experience was my final project, designing an intelligent rover prototype inspired by NASA's Mars science laboratory mission, 'Curiosity.'

I later moved to the United States to pursue my master's in electronics and computer science engineering when I was introduced to neural networks and naturally got attracted to solving complex data challenges. So, I decided to work as a backend software engineer to learn how data propagated to digital systems where I learned about designing API's and backend systems. I later got an exciting opportunity to work at a predictive analytics start-up that leveraged machine learning to predict issues with large fleet vehicles, and that would ultimately save millions of dollars in large industries like transportation and construction vehicles. This experience helped me become a strong data engineer, and I learned a great deal about big data, machine learning, and everything about analytics. I thereafter joined Morningstar, unraveling similar challenges in the financial world, and my love for solving data challenges grew. I pursued an MBA at the Chicago Booth School of Business, which allowed me to combine strategy with technology. Over the years, I've been privileged to lead global engineering and product teams, tackle complex data challenges, and shape data-driven strategy. Today, as Director of Product at Morningstar, I focus on building scalable, trusted data solutions that empower businesses and investors.

Why is the topic "Driving Scalable and Trusted Data Operations at Morningstar with AWS Cloud Services" important to you?

Data is only as valuable as it is trusted. In today's fast-moving digital landscape, businesses rely on data to make decisions—but without strong governance, reliability, and scalability, data can quickly become more of a liability than an asset.  At Morningstar, we've built a robust data ecosystem leveraging AWS cloud technologies to ensure our data is scalable and trusted. Such an ecosystem is critical for financial services, where accuracy, transparency, and reliability are non-negotiable. My talk is about more than just technology—it's about how to build a culture of data excellence, ensuring that organizations can move fast without compromising trust.

Who would you advise to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference and why?

If you're a woman in tech—whether you're just starting out, pivoting your career, or leading at the highest levels—this conference is for you. If you're an ally who believes in the power of diversity to drive innovation, you belong here, too. Women in Tech Global Conference isn't just another tech event. It's a space where we share stories, celebrate wins, and tackle challenges together. It's a reminder that we're not alone in this journey—and that by supporting each other, we can break barriers and redefine what leadership in tech looks like. So if you're looking for inspiration, mentorship, or simply a sense of belonging, I'd say—come, be part of this movement. You won't just leave with new insights; you'll leave with a stronger community.
