On May 14, Barcelona’s vibrant tech community came together for an evening dedicated to connection, innovation, and meaningful conversations at Women in Tech Connect Barcelona 2026. Hosted by New Relic as part of the Women in Tech Global Conference 2026, the event created a welcoming space for engineers, designers, and technology professionals to step away from their screens and engage with the local tech ecosystem in person.
Set against the backdrop of Barcelona’s skyline from New Relic’s office, the evening brought together professionals passionate about technology, design, and community-building. More than a networking event, it became an opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen relationships, and explore the people and culture driving innovation within one of Barcelona’s growing tech hubs.
Insights from Engineering and Product Design Leaders

The featured speaker sessions brought valuable perspectives from leaders shaping innovation at New Relic: Inés Peláez, Senior Principal Product Designer, and Fernanda Rachel Del Bel Tavares, Senior Software Engineer at New Relic
Together, the sessions offered attendees an inside look into New Relic’s engineering and product culture while exploring the intersection of technology, design, collaboration, and problem-solving in modern software development.
Attendees gained practical insights into building impactful products while also learning more about the people and processes behind New Relic’s work.
Beyond technical discussions, the speakers shared perspectives on career growth, navigating the industry, and the importance of community in fostering long-term professional development.
Networking, Career Conversations, and Community Building
Following the talks, the evening transitioned into a lively networking session accompanied by classic Barcelona-style “pica-pica” and panoramic city views. Conversations flowed naturally as attendees connected with peers from across the local engineering and design community.
One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity for attendees to engage directly with New Relic’s Talent Acquisition team. In a relaxed and low-pressure setting, participants were able to explore open roles, discuss career paths, and gain deeper insight into the company’s culture and growth opportunities.
This behind-the-scenes approach gave attendees a more personal understanding of what it means to build a career at New Relic while reinforcing the broader mission of WomenTech Network: creating access, visibility, and opportunity within the tech industry.
The event succeeded not only in facilitating networking, but in strengthening the sense of belonging and support that makes local tech communities thrive.
