Motivation to Speak
Are you excited to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference, and what motivated you to join our community of 150,000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?
I’m so excited to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference. As an executive leader in Oracle, I’ve seen firsthand how technology, especially AI, is reshaping the way we work, solve problems, and create impact. The thing that motivates me most is the opportunity to share those insights with a global community of women who are equally driven to lead that transformation.
Communities like Women in Tech are super powerful. They don’t just open doors, they change what’s possible. I believe that when we come together, share knowledge, and lift each other up, we don’t just participate in the future of tech, we shape it.
Background and Inspiration
Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction?
I started my journey in tech, after graduating with an electrical engineering degree as a database and UNIX administrator, deep in the trenches of infrastructure and operations. From those early days, I was drawn to the intersection of technology and people: how we use powerful tools not just to solve problems, but to create real impact. Over the years, I transitioned into consulting, sales engineering and finally product management at Oracle, where I’ve been for 15+ years. Today, I lead a team that helps our customers unlock the full potential of their Data and AI with innovations like Oracle LiveLabs: a hands-on learning platform with over 14 million views that we created to make AI and tech more accessible and actionable.
The thing that's guided me throughout my career is a passion for empowerment. Whether it’s helping our customers answer the big question using AI by delving into their data, or building programs that scale learning, or mentoring the next generation of diverse talent, I believe in using technology as a force multiplier. I'm not all tech, I'm a retired hip hop instructor and I have an Instagram channel @iamkaymalcolm (follow me!) where I created a space for young people and women in tech and corporate to show up authentically, because representation matters, you can't be what you can't see.
My career path hasn’t always been traditional, but it’s been intentional. I’m here to make tech more human, more inclusive, and more impactful—and I’m just getting started.
Why is the topic “Empowering the Future with AI: How Women Chiefs in Tech Can Drive Business Results” important to you?
This topic is deeply personal and professionally relevant to me. As a woman leader in tech, I’ve experienced the power of representation, and I know how important it is for women, especially those in senior roles, to use our voice to lead the way in adopting transformative technologies like AI.
AI isn’t just some buzzword or “it” term, it’s a business accelerator. But to unlock its full potential, we need diverse voices shaping how it’s built and applied. Here are women leaders who bring unique perspectives that drive more human-centered innovation, more inclusive collaboration, and smarter decision-making.
This is about more than just tools or trends, it’s about empowering women to lead from the front with confidence, shape the future of work, and deliver real measurable results in their organizations.
Who would you advise to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference and why?
I would encourage any woman in technology, especially those in leadership roles or aspiring to be, to attend the Women in Tech Global Conference. Whether you're a C-level executive, an emerging leader, or a technologist driving innovation from within your team, I want to help you stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital and AI world.
It’s also a powerful space for allies, advocates, and anyone committed to building a more innovative tech industry that matches what the population looks like. The energy, knowledge-sharing, and sense of community are going to be unmatched. It will be one of the few places where you can both level up professionally and connect with others who share your purpose and passion.
