Reflecting on My Journey
As a Women in Tech Global Awards 2025 winner, what does this recognition mean to you, and how does it reflect your journey and impact in tech?
I’m thrilled to achieve such an amazing global award. My success has been achieved through working with teams of men and women securing organisations across our region together amongst a significant growth in cybercrime, accelerated by AI, where we’ve needed to adapt and embrace Agentic AI in Cyber defence quickly to mitigate the rising threats. DXC has been at the forefront of this and has supported us to lead with AI solutions for ourselves and our customers. As a female leader in tech, I’m conscious that visibility matters. When women see women in leadership roles in industries where we have traditionally been in the minority such as cybersecurity, it shows that it’s possible for them to achieve their dreams
Tech Industry's Most Rewarding Aspects
In your experience, what is the most rewarding aspect of working in the tech industry, and how has it influenced your career path?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of working in the tech industry is its unique balance of being deeply human-centric while operating at the cutting edge of innovation such as AI. Technology isn’t just about systems and code. It’s about solving real human problems and creating experiences that matter, and as someone with both qualifications in humanities and technology I love the blend of both. I’ve been fortunate to work in areas like Cybersecurity, Cloud and AI, where the stakes are high and the opportunities to make a positive impact are immense. These fields demand not only technical excellence but also empathy and ethical responsibility, which makes the work incredibly meaningful.
Another highlight has been mentoring others. Guiding people as they grow in their careers and watching them thrive has been one of the greatest joys of my journey. It reinforces the idea that tech is not just about machines but about people, collaboration, and shared progress. This blend of human connection and technological advancement has shaped my career path and continues to inspire me every day.
My Tech Career Milestone
Could you share a defining moment or a key achievement in your tech career that has been particularly impactful or meaningful to you?
A defining moment in my career was leading my team across Asia Pacific to achieve DXC’s leadership status in the IDC MarketScape for Managed Detection and Response Services this year. This was not just a recognition of our technical capability but was the result of a bold decision to embrace agentic AI for cyber defence almost 2 years ago. We are operating in a landscape where threats are evolving faster than traditional methods can keep up. By implementing agentic AI, we transformed our approach from reactive to proactive, enabling autonomous threat detection and response at scale. Guiding my team through this journey, navigating the complexity, fostering trust in new technology, and ensuring we stayed human-centric in our design was incredibly rewarding. Seeing the team grow in confidence and capability, and ultimately being recognised as an industry leader, reinforced my belief that technology and people together can achieve extraordinary outcomes. It was a career-defining achievement for all of us.
Empowering Women in Tech: Real Stories, Career Advice, and Tips
From your experience, what essential advice and practical tips would you offer to women aspiring to establish a successful career in tech?
My advice to women aspiring to build a successful career in tech is to embrace curiosity as your superpower. Technology evolves rapidly, and staying curious will keep you learning and adapting. Seek out mentors, both unofficially and officially, from people who inspire you and challenge your thinking, and don’t hesitate to learn from peers as well. The best ideas often come from gnarly conversations and diverse perspectives working together. Most importantly, be bold. Trust yourself and back your decisions. Growth happens outside your comfort zone. There will be moments when you doubt yourself but push through them. Also learn as much as you can and invest in furthering your education. Don’t expect others to do it for you. Tech is a space where innovation thrives on courage, so don’t be afraid to invest in yourself, lead, speak up, and help shape the future.
