Reflecting on My Journey
As a Women in Tech Global Awards 2025 winner, what does this recognition mean to you, and how does it reflect your journey and impact in tech?
This recognition is deeply meaningful because it reflects a career built on resilience, continuous reinvention, and a commitment to lifting others as I grow. I started my tech journey back in the late 1990’s, and so much has changed in that time. I've navigated gender bias, ensuring my voice was heard in the room to challenge complex problems in helping organizations transform their digital ecosystem to ensure they are secure.
Winning this award affirms not only the work I’ve delivered, but also the mentorship, advocacy, and community support I’ve invested in along the way. It represents the voices I’ve tried to amplify, the teams I’ve helped grow, and the women in tech I remain committed to supporting.
Tech Industry's Most Rewarding Aspects
In your experience, what is the most rewarding aspect of working in the tech industry, and how has it influenced your career path?
The most rewarding aspect of working in tech is the ability to shape outcomes that have a real-world impact, whether that’s strengthening an organization’s security posture, enabling innovation, or helping teams navigate new and emerging technologies.
For me, tech has always been a space where curiosity and problem-solving are not only welcomed but lead with it. It has influenced my career path by pushing me to continuously learn, challenge myself, and evolve as quickly as technology has evolved, opening the door to leadership opportunities and global work that I’m incredibly proud of.
My Tech Career Milestone
Could you share a defining moment or a key achievement in your tech career that has been particularly impactful or meaningful to you?
One of the most defining moments in my career was leading complex cybersecurity and architecture initiatives that brought clarity, structure, and long-term strategy to organizations undergoing significant transformation. Guiding large teams, aligning technical vision with business needs, and delivering secure, scalable outcomes has been both challenging and deeply fulfilling.
Being recognized as a Cybersecurity Leader and now a Women in Tech Global Awards winner has reinforced for me how meaningful this work is and how important it is to create pathways for others to follow.
Empowering Women in Tech: Real Stories, Career Advice, and Tips
From your experience, what essential advice and practical tips would you offer to women aspiring to establish a successful career in tech?
Keep advocating for yourself and making sure your voice is heard. It’s so important that women continue to support one another and grow together. Taking the time to recognize and uplift the people around you is just as important as pursuing your own career ambitions.
Top tips:
Invest in continuous learning. Tech evolves constantly; your adaptability becomes your superpower.
Build a strong network early. Relationships will open doors.
Don’t wait until you feel 100% ready. Apply, raise your hand, speak up, confidence grows through action. Go present at that conference!
Find mentors and become one. Mentorship accelerates growth on both sides.
Own your narrative. Your unique experience, background, and perspective are strengths, lead with authenticity.
Step into spaces where you’re underestimated. They often become your greatest opportunities.
