    Reflecting on My Journey

As a Women in Tech Global Awards 2025 winner, what does this recognition mean to you, and how does it reflect your journey and impact in tech?

This recognition means a lot to me because it validates something I’ve experienced firsthand: women are doing critical work in tech, and when we speak up, products get better. It’s not about being loud—it’s about being honest.

Throughout my career, I’ve tried not to shrink myself to fit the room. I’ve raised concerns when features weren’t designed with women in mind, and I’ve spoken up even when I was the only woman at the table. Empathy has always been my superpower in product. Good products come from listening closely, not fitting in, and this recognition feels like proof that leading with empathy creates real impact.

    Tech Industry's Most Rewarding Aspects

In your experience, what is the most rewarding aspect of working in the tech industry, and how has it influenced your career path?

The most rewarding part of working in tech is seeing something you built genuinely matter to someone. Early in my career at Grubhub, I worked on a homepage cuisine filter. A friend later told me it was their favorite part of the app—it changed how they decided what to eat and made ordering feel easier and more fun. It wasn’t a flashy feature, but it was used by millions of people, and that made the impact feel very real.

Now, working on developer tools at Meta, I feel that same reward in a different way. When developers tell me what they love about the tools—or where they’re getting stuck—it reinforces something I deeply believe: the best products don’t try to impress people, they fit seamlessly into real life. That’s why I’ve consistently chosen roles where I believe the work can meaningfully improve how people live, build, or create.

    My Tech Career Milestone

Could you share a defining moment or a key achievement in your tech career that has been particularly impactful or meaningful to you?

There isn’t one single defining moment—it’s been a series of small wins that added up. But launching developer tools for XR developers was especially meaningful. Hearing those tools announced on the Meta Connect stage and seeing the excitement from the developer community made the impact feel tangible.

What mattered even more was what came after—watching developers actually use the tools, build with them, and share thoughtful feedback. That experience reinforced how critical it is to invest in builders if we want new platforms like XR to succeed. The future doesn’t build itself—you have to make it easier for others to build it.

Empowering Women in Tech: Real Stories, Career Advice, and Tips

From your experience, what essential advice and practical tips would you offer to women aspiring to establish a successful career in tech?

First: don’t be afraid to start. Just start. Ask a lot of questions and focus on learning on the job. Look at what you’re already doing and identify which skills are transferable to tech—problem-solving, communication, and decision-making matter more than having the “perfect” background.

Second: be authentic and don’t be afraid to speak up. This is one of the biggest reasons I’ve been able to grow in my career. Your perspective is often the thing missing from the conversation.

Finally: experiment, try, and fail. With tools like Figma, vibe coding, and AI-assisted development, the barrier to entry is lower than ever. You don’t need permission to build anymore—take advantage of that.

Who would you recommend to join the WomenTech Network, and why?

I’d recommend the WomenTech Network to anyone who wants to grow intentionally in tech—whether they’re early in their career, transitioning into the industry, or already leading and looking to scale their impact. Careers don’t grow in isolation, and having access to community, honest conversations, and visible role models can completely change how you see your own potential.

That kind of support isn’t just encouraging—it’s career-shaping.
