Our team designs, develops, and manages applications and infrastructure that support Akamai's Compute products and services. We do this while maintaining Akamai's mission at the forefront of what we do: make life better for billions of people, billions of times a day.

As a SRE II, you will specialize in creating solutions that improve automation and efficiencies across all internal teams. You will drive automation, operational excellence, and support our customer facing applications and infrastructure. This will require creative thinking combined with deep domain expertise in the areas of Linux systems administration, configuration management, automation, software development.

As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

• Defining requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence the new designs and standards
• Building tools, automating tasks, deployments, troubleshooting and reducing toil
• Improving SLOs/SLIs, observability, increasing reliability at scale
• Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 2 y of relevant experience and a Bachelor's in Computer Science or its equivalent
• Possess good level experience in a DevOps, Development, or SysAdmin role, working with large scale distributed systems
• Have experience with building tools for automation and infrastructure at scale(python, terraform, saltstack, jenkins)
• Have experience with SLO & Observability tools, eg. Prometheus, Grafana, etc.
• Demonstrate good communication and interpersonal skills and be able to work independently and with a team
• Possess informed opinions on technology and software design to bring to the table
