Senior Architect, Process Automation

The Accounting team at Calix strives to automate everything. This position will help us develop our accounting systems roadmap to drive more automation in the Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, fixed assets and reporting areas. This role will be a member of the accounting team and work closely with the IT function to drive improved reporting for the business’s key decision makers and additional automation.  

This role will act as the primary interface from the accounting function to IT by understanding the business processes and analyzing and communicating the accounting team’s needs to IT. They will ensure IT compliance and audits are completed without findings and interface with other functions on IT-impacting business and accounting controls.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with accounting to understand their key business processes, define their requirements and propose IT solutions and architectures to automate processes as well as streamlining data analysis.
• Develop and maintain a strategic plan/automation roadmap for the accounting team defining the capabilities accounting requires from our systems. Review roadmap at regular intervals with stakeholders.
• Evaluate business cases and options for Oracle Cloud modules and enhancements by staying up to date on Oracle Cloud’s features and quarterly releases.
• Coordinate with the IT team to ensure the accounting team’s needs are met.
• Work on cross-functional projects to ensure accounting requirements are met and thoroughly understood.
• Document best-in-class procedures ensuring the documentation can be followed by the accounting team
• Participate in projects from start (Business Requirement Documents) to testing (Test Scripts) and finish (post go live support).
• This role may be required to travel and attend face-to-face meetings and Calix sponsored events.

Qualifications:

• Deep functional knowledge on Oracle Cloud Modules (AR, RMCS, Cost, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Cash Management) including iProcurement, Hyperion, Essbase.
• Deep knowledge and experience on Oracle Cloud best practices, architecture, and administration.
• Strong understanding of accounting business processes as well as B2B e-commerce, ideally in the manufacturing industry.
• Expert business analysis and strong knowledge of financial analysis concepts, ability to quickly diagnose and solve business problems.
• Able to work with senior business leaders to develop business roadmaps and strategies.
• Excellent relationship and collaboration skills, exceptional communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience and knowledge of IT-impacting accounting controls, SOX compliance reviews and audits.
• 5+ years of IT business analysis and business solutions experience on major ERP/Enterprise solutions.
• 5+ years of experience as a business partner or in a trusted advisory role.
• Bachelors or Master’s degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent experience.
