As the Gaming Channel Manager lead, you will be continuing to reinvent the NA Retail Consumer Personal Systems Gaming business. You will drive the channel strategy, programs deployment and influence marketing executions to enable profitable revenue growth and market share.

 

This resource is responsible for collaborating with product marketing, sales, and marketing to develop compelling product offerings, promotional strategies, and inventory management of HP consumer Gaming PCs through US retail channel.  This person must possess an in-depth understanding of the competitors, technology trend, technical leadership, promotional strategy ROI analysis, and merchandising content.  Additionally, this role requires proven ability to build strong relationships with customers/alliance partners, creative thinker, and excellent negotiator/communicator.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

  • Consumer US Retail Gaming Notebook/Desktop channel management: build compelling roadmaps based on retailer’s end-users needs, financial acumen/portfolio management; and competitive/ industry knowledge.  Actively contribute/lead the Gaming sales/ business plan for each retailer
  • Constantly monitor sales performance, inventory management, competitive landscape and quickly assess areas of weakness and opportunities to provide recommendations and adjust tactics to achieve desired outcomes
  • Collaborate and influence Time-to-Market product roadmap offerings
  • Drive short term and long term forecast for gaming and actively engage with planning to ensure supply and NPI’s launch requirements
  • Negotiate with alliance partners to secure marketing funds and collaborate with sales and retailers to execute funding programs to optimize revenue and maximize profitability
  • Collaborate with marketing, merchandizing, and sales to drive best in class content, PDPs, and assets to bring HP gaming to life
  • Lead gaming-specific special projects/ initiatives, including but not limited to Gaming solution bundles, and Gaming DIY component plays.
  • Represent NA Gaming channel team in x-functional meetings and senior level gaming reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Showcase superior understanding of the PC Gaming category market/usage model/technology, business management and sales challenges and strategies.
  • Deep understanding of Consumer PC Gaming industry including technology & customer trend awareness - ideally both in systems and DIY categories.
  • Ability to recommend and develop roadmaps and programs that will serve each retailer’s market strengths while maximizing the opportunities for HP
  • Strong relationship management, proven negotiation skills with partners, sales, and internal stakeholders to enable profitable gaming growth
  • Proven channel management skills, P&L acumen, and analytical abilities (Excel proficiency critical).
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including presentation skills to senior leadership and customers
  • Strong sense of execution and planning, ability to adapt to changes when the environment shifts.
  • Teamwork, start-up mindset, strong interpersonal skills, creativity, and leadership.
  • Previous experience with US Retail Channel.
  • Previous experience in US Retail leading Gaming PC Vendors
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field of study, with 7 years related experience. Master's degree strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to travel (primarily US-domestic).

•            Knowledge of promotional marketing processes and practices.

•            Negotiation skills and relationship management with customers, partners and internal stakeholders.

•            Leadership skills and cross functional expertise (sales, supply chain, marketing).

 

Education and Experience Required:

•            Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Engineering; advanced degree or MBA preferred.

•            Typically, 7+ years of professional experience with a combination of Marketing, Sales, Business Planning experienced preferred.

•            Demonstrated Team leadership experience.
