About the team

The Data Science team at Miro has a mission: using AI and Machine Learning to turn Miro into a collaboration platform so smart that it can be considered as intelligent as a team member. We work with NLP, Computer Vision, Graphs and Multimodal deep learning to give Miro the means to truly understand what its users want and need to do, and support them in the process of creating the next big thing. The Data Science team is a brand new, international and interdisciplinary team, which values diversity in background and culture and is excited to learn something more every day from its polyhedric members.

Each role at Miro is based at one of our physical hubs and we look for talent that want to be part of these local, collaborative communities. Mironeers work in a hybrid model, with a 3 days a week in office culture as our baseline.

About the role

Data Engineering is the rock of Data Science. Without sound data and productization pipelines, Data Science Models will never see the light of day, and ultimately delight Miro’s users. We are looking for a Data Engineer to join the team and work alongside Machine Learning Engineers to own and maintain major data pipelines, build our ML Experimentation platform and contribute to our model serving architecture. The perfect match is a data engineer with strong foundations in software engineering and an affinity for ML, who’s not afraid of applying modern technologies and is always prepared to learn and use any necessary new tool.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design and implementation of the Data Science experimentation platform
  • Architect the Data Science production environment along with DevOps and Machine learning engineers
  • Implement and Maintain ingestion and transformation pipelines
  • Work with software and DevOps engineers to create designs and understand requirements to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Help designing and implementing our data QA and model monitoring frameworks
  • Solving various interesting engineering tasks as you wish

What you’ll need

  • Hands-on experience with modern distributed data processing stack like Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Kafka, Presto, Snowflake, etc., as well as orchestration tools such as Airflow
  • General experience working with cloud computing platforms, preferably AWS
  • Solid programming skills, experience working with python and possibly other programming languages such as Java, Scala, and robust SQL skills
  • Deep experience in working with Linux-based environments.
  • An interest in understanding Machine Learning and Data Science
  • Solid communication skills, experience in collaboration with other teams
  • Fluency in English

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Presto and Postgres, as well as any NoSQL database
  • Experience of development and deployment using Docker
  • Experience in infrastructure management tools like Ansible, Terraform
