About the team
Business Logic Users:
User is one of the most important entities of our product that owns all profile data related to the particular user. Users can have several profiles in different organizations. This information is personal information that should be stored safely for every context. All user info should be secured in a separate service and available for various internal and external services. In addition, our product allows our customers to work with data that could be distributed in various regions. Users should have their information available from any location. So, we have to organize data in different regions, synchronize or query data from other regions, and do it efficiently.
There is a rare opportunity to build a new era of Miro product that works in different regions of the world and lets customers work over the globe transparently and, at the same time, comply with legal requirements!
Resources
The Resource team builds a platform part related to load, storage, and process all media types in Miro. It is a new team; we decided to move this scope and components to a dedicated team to provide better experience and attention. Our focus is on the performance and stability in the face of constant user growth. The current goals are to review and rebuild the system according to updated requirements.
Each role at Miro is based at one of our physical hubs, and we look for talent that want to be part of these local, collaborative communities. Mironeers work in a hybrid model, with a 3 days a week in office culture as our baseline.
About the role
We’re looking for an who will help to set up the team. We expect you to have a strong software engineering experience, readiness to drive change and experiment in the search of the best solution, understanding how to work with big loads, and be able to scale it. You will be responsible for one of the demanded services in Miro and it’s new heart.
The role requires being in close touch with other teams to design and build the system's next step.
What you'll do
- Building and leading one of the teams within the Core Product stream (people management, hiring, process development, and interfacing with other teams)
- Guide and mentor team members for their professional and career growth
- Develop a team plan to achieve quarterly OKRs on time and with excellent outcomes, closely collaborate with a product manager, designer, and other teams.
- Be a role model, technically strong to help your team develop and help when needed
- Contribute to the product as a Backend Engineer: Solve technical problems of high scope and complexity, design and implement scalable and high-performing solutions
- Collaborate with teams across Miro to improve our product, architecture, and engineering practices
What you’ll need
- Experience building robust, high-scale, distributed systems in production environments
- Strong Backend experience. Java ecosystem is preferable, but other languages aren't blockers
- Ability and openness to learn, fail, reflect and apply learnings moving forward
- Understanding of high-load architecture and SaaS infrastructure
- You are highly motivated to develop high-quality solutions quickly and without mentorship
- You have at least 1 year of experience managing an engineering team, including hiring, personal development, performance management, delivery management
- Excellent communication skills
