Session: Gamified virtual reality for physical and mental health
Low engagement in regular exercise is a major problem in the health and fitness industries. I will talk about gamification and how virtual reality is the perfect tool to apply it for increasing engagement in exercise as well as how it can improve mental and physical health holistically. I will also discuss the research that we are conducting to bring gamified VR into the health and fitness industries.

After completing my BSc Applied Sport & Exercise Science degree I found virtual reality and realized it's potential. During my MSc Biomedical Engineering I focused on how gamification can be implemented through virtual reality to help increase engagement in exercise and reduce pain for chronic pain patients. After finishing my MSc I founded Virtually Healthy to bring gamified VR into the world of health and fitness to increase engagement in exercise and improve the quality of life for many.
