Session: Is Imposter Syndrome holding you back?
This session is for introverts (and extroverts) who experience imposter syndrome.
Do you ever feel invisible in meetings? Do you feel others oversee you.
Do you suffer from chronic self-doubt and a sense of intellectual fraudulence that override any feelings of success or external proof of your competence and that at any minute you are going to be found out? Then this session is for you.
After completing this session, you will have simple advice on how to:
1. Define imposter syndrome and ways it can manifest.
2. Identify risk factors associated with imposter syndrome.
3. Develop strategies to overcome imposter syndrome.
4. Learn feeling comfortable being uncomfortable and start growing

- Rewrite your mental programmes. Recognise imposter feelings when they emerge. Awareness is the first step to change, so ensure you track these thoughts: what they are and when they emerge.
Originally from the Black Forest in Germany, Marlen moved to the UK after graduation. Whilst initially it was the lure of London and the opportunity to improve her English, she realised early that a sales role would provide the career challenges and fulfilment she sought. From her first role with Red Hat, Marlen has climbed the ladder of the sales l environment within multiple software companies including Red Hat, Tripwire, EnterpriseDB and Docker. She joined SUSE in 2018 to lead a team to promote the adoption of SUSE Cloud Application Platform. Marlen is now working with SUSE Tier 2 channel partners to develop their business across EMEA and APJ. These partners offer a managed service to their customers to manage subscriptions on their behalf.
Marlen is a passionate and diverse leader responsible for creating a digital strategy. She is focused on building high performing teams, ensuring diversity across the business and developing go to market strategies across multi-channels.
Marlen is a passionate advocate focusing on STEM initiatives and active speaker in the community. She has been speaking at multiple conferences, such as the Women in Sales Awards and Women in Sales Summit in London and many others.
Marlen has recently been named in the CRN Women of the Channel list 2020 and a finalist by ComputerWeekly's Women of Excellence Awards as Transformation Leader of the year.
