By not responding to harassing commentary online, blocking commenters or even limiting your audience to just followers can help decrease any uncomfort you experience in your overall career path. Does it happen, yes? Should it, absolutely not. Unfortunately, there are too many with too much time on their hands for the wrong things instead of focusing on the positive things they can do online to reshape life for themselves and that of others. Remember to have grace and move on and if you are one that cannot handle tough interactions, online engagement should be reduced to the minimums.
