With all of you here today, you must already have an idea about what social media marketing is. Let me refresh your memory - Social media marketing is the utilization of social media platforms to connect with your audience, build your brand, increase sales, and drive traffic towards your brand.

How Does It Work?

This process revolves around four primary points:

  1. Publishing great content on your social media profiles.
  2. Listening to and engaging with your followers.
  3. Analyzing the results to understand your audience’s engagement.
  4. Running social media advertisements.

We want to optimize our time, so let's plunge right into understanding the five core pillars of social media marketing, the need for SMM, and how to get it started.

The Five Core Pillars of Social Media Marketing

  1. Strategy: Creating a unique strategy for your brand is the foundation of your social media marketing efforts.
  2. Planning: An effective strategy needs a robust plan. It entails publishing and monitoring your content.
  3. Listening and Engagement: Pay attention to your customer's comments, messages, and overall engagement with your brand.
  4. Analytics and Reporting: Keep track of how well your content is performing using reliable tools for analytics and reports.
  5. Advertising: Running targeted social media ads will boost your reach and engagement.

Why Do We Need Social Media Marketing?

Why is it that we need social media marketing, you wonder? Here's why:

  • Reach: Most of your audience spend their majority of time on social media. It's the perfect place to catch their attention.
  • Message Spread: In the current COVID scenario, social media is one of the few ways to get a message spread far and wide.
  • Conversion: SMM can convert leads into sales faster. It's about creating trust, and ultimately the customer will reach out to you.

I've shared a lot about what SMM is, why it is needed, and its core pillars. But how should you get started? I have the roadmap for that.

Getting Started with Social Media Marketing

  1. Know your customers: Understand what they want, so you can provide the ways to reach out to your brand.
  2. Set goals and start planning: After understanding your audience, set clear goals for what you want to achieve, and make a detailed plan to get there.
  3. Start small: Don't be afraid to start small. Trust that your business will grow in time.
  4. Delegate and learn: Don't be afraid to ask for help when needed. Always remain open to learning new skills and techniques.
  5. Give it time: Good things take time. Patience is truly a virtue in the realm of social media marketing.

Now that you have a good grasp on starting a social media marketing strategy, here are the four most important tips to guide you.

So let's just begin with the session. So, hey, everybody, I am Suti Sharma from India and let me take you through this roller coaster ride for the foolproof guide to social media marketing strategies. Perfect. So this will be our agenda. First of all, I'll give you my introduction, then we'll go through the basic terms and introduction for the S ems eo etcetera. Then we'll move towards the five core pillars of social media marketing, then of the need of SSM which you already be aware about. And finally, we'll move towards how to start it and then the four most important tips which I want to share with you all guys. So I guess you all are excited for this. Let's begin. So this is me. And currently what I'm doing in my life is I'm a managed services consulting intern with sprinkler and head at United, which is a United Nations Undertaking Organization. Furthermore, I have an experience of being a content strategist. Then I I'm yet to be graduated from uh Guinan Dev University here in India. And I'm a SAS development practitioner. Also, I have this keen uh you know, interest in business analytics and want to be a business analyst in future. So let's get towards the topic.

So uh what is social media marketing? Obviously, if you are landed here on the session, you must be knowing about this. So social media marketing is the use of social media platforms to connect with your audience to build your brand, increase sales and drive traffic towards your brand.

Obviously, you you'll you'll all be wondering that how we can create that? What are the most important steps that you need for that? So, OK, so how, how will this happen? Like this will happen through these four points? These four points first is publishing great content on your social media profiles. And this doesn't mean that you have to create loads and loads of social media profiles and then you'll have this uh listening to and engaging your followers so that they can know that yeah, somebody is there for them also, then you have to analyze the results that how much audience is engaging with you.

And the fourth and the four last point is running the social media advertisements because advertisements are the only thing which help you a lot and which will help you a lot in future. OK. So these are the basic terms and will not waste, you know much time on these, you all must be knowing all these and you know, these are, these can be easily, you know, found through Google itself. So why, why, why should we waste our time on this? Let's let's move further. If you want take a screenshot glance about this and you know, this should be better in your understanding further. Let's let's move towards the 45 core pillars of social media marketing itself. So the first one is strategy, how will you move further?

If you don't create a strategy for your social media channels, or if you want to increase the reach of audience to your brand itself, you have to create a perfect strategy, you'll have to first plan things. So the strategy is in your mind itself, you have to create that and each brand has a different strategy. The second thing, the second most important thing is planning without a plan, you are a total lobe and that's, that's the truth. So what you will have to do is uh secondly, you'll have to plan things and start publishing. After you publish your content, you'll have to listen through analytics and engage with your customers. What is meant by engagement here is like, you know, for example, somebody uh comments about your brand or somebody tries to engage with you through the DM on the social media accounts. So you have to, you know, make different branches, whether it's a lead, whether it's a message from the user regarding the complaints or whether it's some other thing so that comprises of listening and engagement itself. The fourth point is very, very important which I already covered.

Because these 3rd and 4th points they are inter you know, convertible like in analytic, you will always be like analyzing the content, analyzing your reach that how is your content performing on the social media channels? And without that, you cannot move further towards advertising.

Suppose let's say you create, you created an advertisement for your brand itself and posted it on different social media channels and you create another ad but of different uh aspects. So let's say the first ad didn't perform very well in the social media channels. You know, let's say it's, it's it's not performing well on Facebook itself. So why, why do you want to create such an ad? Why do you want to waste your talent, your your people, people's talent onto that ad? So in place of that ad, if your second ad is performing a good thing so that, that you can care through these analytics and reporting part. So these are the five foremost core pillars. If you want to develop a social media marketing strategy, you, you have to, you have to go through these. Now we'll move towards the three reason of the need of social media marketing. Like you, you'll be wondering that, why, why do we need need this? OK. So first that you know, this is where most of your audience is spending the majority of time, social media management and social media cannot be ignored at all, cannot be ignored. According to the latest research, people in the US check their Facebook accounts and Twitter and other social media accounts 17 times a day.

So why would you waste such a great so that you know, you can convert that to and you can tell them that, hey, I'm I'm selling this or I'm doing this thing. Are you interested in this? You would definitely want to reach out to them first because they cannot reach out to you if you don't have any, you know, and at outskirts. Ok. So the second part is the second most you know, important reason is that social media is one of the few ways to get a message spread far and wide because keeping in mind the current COVID scenario, you know, you, you cannot, you know, think about any other option like you can, you cannot reach to your audience at the doorstep.

But the single thing through which you can reach is social media. Indeed, the third thing which is the you can say most important reason is convert leads to sales like it, it converts, leads to sales even faster. Like you build trust and trust is ultimately what turns a blind lead into a hot lead and you know, customers will turn towards you that yeah, hey, I need that you are providing that and I need that. But if you don't have social media, marketing, marketing strategies, how will you reach towards the right audience? You know, we, we all want that. So I have these steps that how you should get started, take a screenshot glance on these points, whatever, do whatever you want with these.

But these are the most important points if you have a small business, a medium, you know, but you know, along that a big business. So these are the most important steps like you, you, you first have to like after knowing your customers there, what they, what are they you want to know, then also, then only then you will be able to pro and you, you will be provide them the ways to reach out to your brand.

2nd, 2nd thing is the most important thing like you have to set goals and start planning, I cannot, you know, force myself point that you have to set, go and start planning right after this meeting, go and start planning, start small. There is nothing like don't be paid to start small. Like like you, your business will grow, you, you just see business will grow after times. But but there is a span of time in the initial stage where you, you cannot, you know, speed up the process initially and as delegate as necessary, go as down as go as down as you want, get your go to analytics learn. And there are loads and loads of free co just, just, just go get a skill and you'll be able to truly an online business which will, you know, give, give great results and give it enough time. You know, you you cannot think of like starting a business now and you know, you, you'll be, you cannot think like after one month, your business will reach heights like who, who will think that? Ok, so this is the, you know, last uh important aspect of training or we can say our session. So, you know, the first important social media management step is show up consistently. You cannot just create social media profile and disappear after you have to be consistent.

Whether it's youtube, whether it's Instagram, whether it's Facebook, whether it's say, say the name of any social media channel and you'll have to be consistent without consistency, you are zero as a as well as as self. The second, the second most important thing is get in the trenches, you have to be relatable to people. You cannot, you cannot just blabber about uh about your content that, hey, I'm selling pencils. What about your uh your audience do not want that? What about they want if they want pens, if they want, you know, the most, the most, you know, latest technology pens. So your advertisement and all your social media strategy. The third thing, the third thing is also a very important thing. It's, you know, creating a sense of community, gather, people gather the audience who the same, you know, who thinks in the same way, who wants the same thing? Gather that community, make a community, you know, expand the reach, just make a community and expand the reach. Everyone wants to feel like they belong to something. So you, you a sense of, you know, a want in the, in their hearts so that they can relate to you. And the last point, the the very last point this is where we can see the most of the people struggle.

You know, they may be able to curate, create a sense of community and appear relatable, but they just forget that they run a business, you know, the kind of charge money for products or services, you know, as easy as it to fall away from, you know, talking about ourselves. It's so freaking important like you have to you rock why you, you do, you know different from other brands. There are thousands of, of brands, you know, as the same brand as you have and tell them and you cannot just tell them. And by knocking at the doors, you can tell them through your content, learn content management, learn social media management. I have given you all the important strategies which was my mind. I have created this session only and only for you and you have got this, you know, you completely got this, quit overthinking it and go out and create a foolproof social media strategy.
