As a Technical Advisor you are responsible for having a deep technical knowledge of ESRI suite of products (version 10.6 and above) including ArcGIS Server, Portal, ArcGIS Runtime, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcFM, ArcSDE, Geo-database etc. their application(s) including the underlying technologies.

What you will do:

  • Work with our GIS teams to deliver sustainment and improvement services

  • Understand the GIS architecture and infrastructure, business workflows and the functional/geospatial data models of our systems vis-à-vis the business needs

  • Have a deep functional and technical knowledge of the GIS applications and its integrations with other systems

  • Partner/Coordinate with the AMS (Application Managed Service) partner on timely delivery of work

  • Understand all work that is out of AMS scope and determine how the work should be delivered

  • Understand and deliver the direct device (hands-on) support type work in their area/portfolio

  • Review all required security items and settle how it will impact their applications, and work to deliver with the MSPs (Managed Service Providers)

  • Support the AMS vendor to deliver on issues and escalations that require additional direction (business processes, business contacts, TIS contacts, etc.)

  • Maintains knowledge of current technologies deployed in their area/portfolio

  • Ensures TIS Governance policies are followed within the application portfolio

  • Drives opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change

Who you are:

  • College or University degree OR three-year technical diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Geography, GIS, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 4+ years of application sustainment/support/development

  • 4+ years working with business partners and external service providers

  • 4+ years of experience in ESRI Enterprise GIS technology/suite of Products, version 10.6 or above including ArcGIS Server, Portal, ArcGIS Runtime, ArcGIS Desktop, ArcFM, ArcSDE, Geo-database

  • Domain expertise with gas utilities market including gas distribution and transmission

  • Experience with Esri products to solve complex business problems

  • Experience in the integration of ArcGIS with key utility enterprise systems, such as: work management, network analysis, Customer Information System, document management systems, telemetry and SCADA systems, Engineering and CADD systems

  • Proven professional experience applying electric and gas utilities GIS data management frameworks

  • Experience with desktop, client/server, and Internet applications, and architectures

  • Familiarity with RDBMS and geodatabase design techniques and concepts

  • Nice to have exposure to Hexagon Suite of Products (Ver 10.4 and above) including G/Designer, G/Netviewer, Netplot, MobileViewer
