As VP of Engineering you will play the key leadership role to ensure that Forum One delivers technical solutions that help our clients in their world-changing work. You will lead all aspects of our technical services – our largest team in the company.

 

What you’ll do:  

  • You’ll set the technical roadmap to guide our growth, and manage the senior team in steering us in operations and engineering improvement – across overall technical strategy, digital experience development, developer operations, website  hosting, and more.   
  • You’ll be closely involved in marketing, thought leadership, and business development to grow the business.
  • You’ll ensure we have the skills, systems, and oversight to deliver high quality technical work to meet client needs. You’ll work closely with all our services teams to ensure we deliver integrated solutions.
  • You’ll lead the recruiting, career development, and management of our diverse and growing 40+ person technical services team. 
  • You’ll be a part of Forum One senior leadership team, setting company direction, and helping us advance as a more diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible organization. 
  • You’ll work closely with the CEO and other VPs across the company every day.
  • You'll manage a substantial budget for staff development and training, and technical infrastructure.

 

What would be nice: 

  • Proprietary digital experience platforms (e.g., Sitecore)
  • API-based systems and services  integration (e.g., Salesforce)
  • Data visualization development
  • Cloud engineering and monitoring (AWS, micro services)
  • Experience with SAAS hosting platforms (Pantheon, Acquia, Platform.sh)
  • Software testing and quality assurance tools
  • Location near our offices in the Seattle area or Washington DC area is a plus.

What you’ll bring to the table: 

  • Experience leading a technical engineering team, from direction setting to team management. You’ll bring a passion for developing the careers of your team and experience recruiting engineering talent.
  • Technical architecture and software development experience with Open Source content management systems (Drupal, WordPress), PHP, JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React) , headless architecture.
  • Proven success with team-based agile development and experience with  continuous integration tools, and a solid understanding of software security, privacy, and accessibility.
  • Knowledge of industry trends, best practices, and change management, and Excitement for solving the problems facing our clients with innovative  technical solutions. You know how to mesh efficiency and innovation to keep our team and clients happy.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to business success, from the P&L of individual projects, to creating engineering efficiency across projects, to finding where we can add more value for clients while  improving Forum One as an employer for our team.
  • Excellent communication skills combined with curiosity, a learning attitude, empathy, and self-awareness.
