Job Summary

The Senior Manager, IT  will be a site lead for IT applications team based in Cork, Ireland. The IT team will comprise of Business Systems Analysts and Systems Architect catering to multiple areas of business. As a site lead for the applications team, primary responsibility is  overseeing the team’s day-to-day activities, setting performance goals, providing guidance and support, conducting regular performance evaluations in partnership with the US based matrix leaders, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.  

The individual will also be responsible for working with local business team and collaborating with various IT teams in multiple geographic locations. The ideal candidate will be capable of quickly understanding business processes, organizing projects and tasks, and communicating at all levels of the organization. 

 

  • Develop, define, and execute project plans, schedules, budgets, and deliverables. Identify needed resources for projects, define and assign major project roles.

 

  • Determine, present, and gain approval from more senior managers, on the scope and priority of current and future projects.

 

  • Develop and manage the department headcount, capital, and expense budget.

 

  • Establishes key metrics to manage performance of staff.

 

  • Ensures that projects and development efforts are documented, and changes are managed.

 

  • Develop, implement, and monitor policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, legal, and regulatory compliance.

 

  • Encourage proper implementation of IT processes and provide oversight of processes.

 

  • Provide appropriate feedback to management on process improvement suggestions.

 

  • Promote and maintain high standards of customer service.

 

  • Perform contract negotiations with consultants, technical personnel, and vendors for services and products.

 

  • Ensure program milestones and objectives are met.

 

  • Keep senior management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.

 

  • Ensure that projects adhere to the company processes and initiate process improvements as needed.

 

  • Take responsibility for results, including costs, methods, and staffing.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and to self-manage deliverables, meetings, and information gathering.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to present options and solutions in a way that can easily be understood by business users.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance or Accounting, Economics, or Information Technology.
