Objective of the role

Our Maintenance Coordination team provides premium service and fast software updates to keep our world-wide customers' businesses safe and running. To support our Maintenance Coordination team we are looking for an experienced software developer to help us achieve an ever higher level of process automation and integration of the various systems and services we use to coordinate and deliver software updates to our customers and the community.

What You'll Do

• Consolidate existing tools and enhance services to further automate our workflows and streamline our processes

• Better integrate our various systems with each other, whether internal or public, open source or proprietary, third party or owned and maintained by SUSE

• Implement solutions to issues found by your internal customers

Experience We Want to See

• Experience with at least one back-end language and web framework, preferably Python/Django

• Experience with other such languages, like Perl, PHP, Ruby is a plus

• Linux system and network administration, some experience required

• Relational model, RDBMS & SQL, basic understanding and some experience required (PostgreSQL experience welcome)

• HTML5 & CSS3, fluency required

• JavaScript fluency required

• jQuery experience is welcome

• Experience with implementing RESTful APIs is a plus

• Experience in containers technologies is welcome

• Jira & Confluence experience welcome

• Experience with agile development (we use SCRUM) is a big plus

• Experience with git, Github/Gitlab is a plus

• Passion for Linux and Open Source Software

• Fluent English, both spoken and written

• SUSE Linux Enterprise Server and openSUSE product knowledge is a plus
