Akamai Technologies, Inc. is hiring for the following role in Chicago, IL (multiple openings): Senior Software Engineer Lead. Perform software engineering duties in furtherance of design and implementation of custom web applications and/or development of Akamai network infrastructure; design, implement, automate, and support all aspects of software product; participate in the architecture, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of software solutions; develop new applications, improve current systems and bring new capabilities to our customers; contribute to our automated test suite, including unit, functional, integration, and end-to-end tests in labs and QA environments; improve current functionality and bring new features to the software platform. Required Qualification:

Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering or a related field plus 24 months of experience in the job offered or alternate accepted occupation of (all levels) Software Engineer, Software Developer, Front End Developer, Systems Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Manager, Support Engineer, Cloud Software Engineer, Consultant, Web Developer, Storage Expert, System Administrator, Analyst, Research Assistant, Intern.

In alternative the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or alternate accepted occupation of (all levels) Software Engineer, Software Developer, Front End Developer, Systems Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Solutions Manager, Support Engineer, Cloud Software Engineer, Consultant, Web Developer, Storage Expert, System Administrator, Analyst, Research Assistant, Intern.

Must Have: 24 months of experience in at least five (5) of the following skills: Python, Perl, Golang, C/C++, Bash, Typescript, Linux/Unix, High-Availability Systems, TCP/IP Networking, Internet Protocols, Routing or Switching Algorithms, Visualization Tools, Multithreading, or Server Development.
