For our The Coca-Cola Global Delivery Center in Sofia, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to deliver data and analytics technological solutions that drive business growth and productivity. 

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of scalable, globally distributed, robust, and secure products and tools related to data processing, reporting and advanced analytics.

You will be expected to work with the users of data and analytics services to understand the business context, to design or re-design solutions. You will work in a network of data engineering experts from all over the world, following enterprise standards and industry practices. You will be supported and expected to learn constantly new technologies, to improve your skills and constantly track the latest industry achievements. You will be expected to act as an owner and ensure achieving the goals. The contribution includes hands-on activities and support to other team members and business stakeholders.

What You’ll Do for Us:

  • Translate business needs and change requests into a data-driven solution design. Collaborate with data and analytics community analyzing the business needs and proposing solutions

  • Data modeling, development, and deployment of end-to-end data analytics solutions in cloud environment (primarily Azure) including:

    • Data extraction, clearance, and validation

    • Data processing including big data processing, integration, data modeling and data visualization in form of reports and dashboards

    • Maintain and execute performance tuning, testing, troubleshooting, and users’ support

    • Ensure security and reliability of the solutions

  • Supervise the work of junior data engineers and providing technical guidance

  • Proactively identify and address technical strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats across the application landscape and propose alternatives and potential optimizations

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relevant field

  • 3+ years hands-on experience as a Data Engineer/ Software Developer

  • Knowledge in DBMS, ETL, NoSQL and OLAP principles and frameworks

  • Experience with data reporting and visualization tools (Microsoft Power BI is considered a plus)

  • Required strong knowledge and experience with SQL.

  • Experience with big data sets processing. Experience with Spark is considered a plus.

  • Experience in development in some of the programming languages Python, Scala, C#/.NET, or similar

  • Experience with Cloud development and Data and Analytics services in Microsoft Azure is considered a plus

  • Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude willing to take initiative and to act as an owner
