As the Head of Agile Product Development, you will be a leader in TIS with deep technology expertise and a track record of working with engineering, product management and other senior leaders to introduce and establish an outstanding product development and agile engineering culture and organization.

In addition to people management, you thrive in a fast-paced continuous delivery engineering environment; understand the challenge of modern software development, importance of testing and quality and believe in measurement and acting based on data.

What you will do:

  • Establish and lead the Enterprise Agile Product Development team, an entity that will build, promote, and educate on standard methodologies around software product design, architecture, planning, and delivery via agile methods and leveraging the latest modern software product development methods, systems, tools, practices across the entire organization.

  • Lead a team of product development managers, business analysts, project and program managers, product owners, application developers, service delivery specialists and service owners accountable to lead all aspects of the end-to-end design, architecture, planning, and delivery of key LP and GTM products.

  • Oversee the enterprise-wide team of agile coaches and scrum masters via a dedicated Agile Coach, providing coaching, mentorship, and motivation / encouragement to continue to impact the Lab at all levels aside from the rest of Enbridge.

  • Promote excellent software engineering practice and produce high quality code to ensure high availability post deployment – all done in a highly agile fashion leveraging Scrum, Kanban, Scrum Ban, Lean etc.

  • Collaborate with the Technology + Innovation lab to develop and maintain the Digital strategy and product roadmap for various business units including ideation and envisioning for new product ideas

  • Drive operational excellence and achieve agreed service levels and accountable for the development and execution of key application lifecycle plans.

  • Play a key role in the growth and development of staff and encouraged to build the right capabilities now and for the future.

  • Mentor, develop, and empower members of the team to improve performance.

  • Build alignment to culture, values, and key behaviors that promote Program Excellence, Operational Excellence, and a continuous learning environment that cultivates creativity, innovation, experimentation and focused risk taking.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field

  • Minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible experience in IT and business.

  • Minimum of 5 years of business/proven experience in engineering, operations, customer service and/or asset performance.

  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership responsibilities, with at least 3 years managing large cross-functional teams

  • Strong leadership skills – ability to guide diverse teams of varying backgrounds (e.g., business, design, technology) and influence external partners in the business

  • 2-3 years of cloud experience (Azure preferred but all cloud platforms will suffice)

  • Delivery focused and highly qualified leading delivery teams within Agile frameworks and DevOps models for software engineering/delivery.

  • Deep understanding of product development and have lead teams in the application of exciting technologies and concepts such as RPA, IoT, Blockchain, ML/AI, AR/R and UAV

  • Solid understanding of cloud-based architecture, data architecture and Platform as a Service (PaaS)

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to:  Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.  Mobility to walk in outdoor conditions that occasionally involve uneven and slippery terrain and to enter and exit excavations.  Agility with the ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and other devices using feet and legs, and/or hands and arms.
