Job Description

UX designers will often find themselves bridging the gap between the user, the development team, and key business stakeholders. As a UX Designer, you will be the voice of the customer, creating a seamless digital journey across HP Digital Direct websites and digital properties, from apps to internal websites. You will advocate for the end-user while partnering with our digital solutions team to create digital experiences for our customers. Whether you’re designing a brand-new product, coming up with a new feature, or making changes to an existing product or service— the UX designer must consider what’s best for the user and the overall user experience. At the same time, you are also responsible for making sure that the product or service meets the needs of the business. This person must thrive in a rapidly changing environment and love the challenge of adopting new technologies and systems into an existing business ecosystem. The ideal candidate will also have UI experience and be able to help across marketing activities.

 

Key Activities

Develop a thorough understanding of our customers through research and tie their problems and needs to business impact.

Participate in the product definition process with the Product Manager, Engineering Manager, and User Research. Drive clarification of the user tasks and objectives.

Develop user experience design concepts, wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, usage scenarios, specifications, and other UX design deliverables for the highest priority initiatives.

Develop expert-level knowledge of competitive and complementary products and bring new ideas to the team.

Have a good understanding of current design patterns and guidelines for both mobile and web and be able to create a coherent cross device experience.

Ensure that visual design mock-ups are consistent with the style and brand guidelines.

Work with the PMs to launch experiments and iterate on your designs. Discover new ways to increase outcome metrics.

Ability to manage several projects autonomously

Work with design leadership, product managers and UX/UI peers to conceptualize, create and design intuitive and functional experiences across multiple devices

Own, Contribute and police UX and UI standards, rules and user journeys across multiple properties and brands

Lead and execute concept work for new products, evolving features and large-scale initiatives

Produce effective and well-organized design deliverables ready for developer hand-off

Be part of an ever-growing team and act as a mentor to other team members.

Lead design and support usability testing to understand user behavior and product performance

Lead design presentations as well as clearly articulate concepts to tech and non tech audiences

Collaborate with wider design team to maintain best practices, workflows and design consistency across all our platforms

Help define and evolve design systems by creating and structuring design components, elements and libraries

Love and believe in the value of good experience design; always representing the end user’s needs at all times

Qualifications & Skills
 

More than 5 years in UX

eCommerce major advantage

Enterprise UX a plus

Strong understanding of modern UX technologies, theories, architecture, and development techniques

Worked with or Set Design System rules.

Expert proficiency in necessary UX tools, Figma advantageous,  

Data & Analytics Packages: Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics & Content Square

HTML, CSS, Jscript knowledge

Exceptional communication, presentation and storytelling skills
