Hardware Test & Validation Engineering

Synopsys Laboratory Team in Porto (Portugal) is part of a worldwide team responsible for the test and characterization of several IP products, such as HDMI, DP and MIPI (CDPHY, DPHY, MPHY). We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and talented engineer to fill a Test & Validation Engineering role in our Laboratory team.

Main responsibilities include:
 

• Mixed-Signal Integrated Circuits (with Synopsys IP) full Characterization.
• Design and implement laboratory test setups.
• Use high-end laboratory equipment (Oscilloscopes, Arbitrary Waveform Generators, Network Analyzers, etc…).
• Troubleshooting and Debugging.
• Understand test specifications, datasheets, and circuit schematics.
• Reporting and Documentation.
• Follow Quality Processes.
• Work closely with Hardware Engineers to improve or to create new test setups.
• Internal teams and customer support.

Requirements:

• Academic background
  
  • BSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• Technical Skills
  
  • Microelectronics, Mixed-Signal IC concepts, digital and analog circuits.
  • Good understanding of transmission lines and s-parameters.
  • Verilog, Python and Matlab.
  • UNIX operating systems and scripting.
  • Laboratory bench instruments.
• Soft Skills
  
  • Proactive and supportive team player.

• Work Experience
  
  • 1+ years relevant experience.
