To navigate this journey effectively, direct your focus to five major areas, commonly referred to as the 'Fab Five'. These include:

  • Faith
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Finances
  • Fitness

The objective is to identify what you need to start, stop, or continue in these areas to empower and improve your life.

Often, the present challenges us to adapt to an unwelcome new norm. Recognizing what works and what doesn't in your life is paramount during such times. Serious, yet honest conversations regarding the Fab Five areas can reveal truths that may guide your path forward.

The Transformation Equation: Stop, Start, and Continue

Your fitness journey can be a metaphor for overall self-improvement. It's not necessarily about losing 20 pounds immediately but about shedding two pounds and celebrating that achievement. Recognizing even the smallest steps towards your goals encourages you to continue on your path. Remember to celebrate your wins, minor or major.

Profiling Yourself: The In-Time or Through-Time Persona

When embarking on the journey of activation, it's essential to determine your persona. Are you spontaneous ('in-time') or reliant on structure ('through-time')? Understanding your persona will guide how you approach opportunities and manage life.

Yet, it's crucial to find a balance. An overemphasis on spontaneity or structure can be limiting. Quite clearly, the optimum approach lies in merging the best attributes of both personas.

It's now time to choose a day from your calendar when you will celebrate, appreciating your conscious decisions to improve yourself. Let it symbolize your achievement of having activated aspects of the Fab Five areas of your life. This date marks your success in the stop, start, and continue strategic plan.

Activating your life today, I wanna share some key points if that's ok. And I want to, you know, we've heard so much great information. And when we look at women tech, we look at this global conference, we have women chiming in from all over the world.And the key here is connection. And when I look at and think about activating your life, there's one question that I want you to answer right now. You feel free to put it in the chat. What is one thing moving forward into 2021 and moving into 2022? Ask yourself what is one thing that I need to stop start or continue some write it down? What do I need to stop someone? Write it in the chat? What do I need to stop start or continue? Because I truly believe that we have uh there's some things that we need to start. There's some things that are holding us back, whether it's in our careers, whether it's in our professional life, whether it's in our personal life, our spiritual life, our financial life, right?

Whether it's in uh five pillars, faith, family, friends, finances and fitness, faith, family, friends, finances and fitness. But what are the big question is what do you need to stop? What do you need to start? Stop and continue? Take a second to write that down. Start, stop and continue. And this is the key and this is one of the rules to activating your life. And a lot, like I said before, there's a lot of things that we need to start that we haven't started. There's some things that we need to stop, stop procrastinating, stop overanalyzing, stop perfectionism, stop not having, you know, um time for yourself being on everyone else's agenda but yourself. Sometimes we need to start creating boundaries and sticking to them. Sometimes we need to start this program of being disciplined, the big D word. I was fearful of it. Sometimes we need to, there's some things that we need to continue doing that is already bringing us such a great level of success in our life. But I truly believe when it comes to the start and the stop, that's where the sweet spot is. Do you agree? That's where the sweet spot is. And so when we look at, how can we move forward in activating our lives, how can we take all the things that we have learned?

We've had a heck of a year last year moving into now adjusting to, I don't even want to call it a new norm, but this uh pandemic phase, one of my friends said, you know what Lucinda, this is not a pandemic, this is a pandemic. And so when I looked at that and I said, you know what? You're right. And as we go into this pandemic phase, looking at what is working for us and what is not working for us. There's some conversations that we need to have that we are not having in any one of the five, the fab five areas, faith, family, friends, finances and fitness, someone write it down in the chat and I love the honesty in the room. And I, and I'm gonna give you an example before we go forward and, and I hope it's ok that I talk to you, right? I don't want to give you any slides. I want this one on one connection. I want us to make this sister girl connection because this is what women tech Global is about connecting, right? Where we are and then also giving ourselves some grace. Yes. And so if it's ok for these next couple of minutes, for me to connect with you, some of you have been so patient. Some of you have just been waiting to see what's next. And I wanna make sure that I feed your soul.

Some of you have been fed mentally. Some of you have been fed professionally. I wanna feed deep down inside. Now. I can't guarantee that you'll walk away with confidence, but I will guarantee is that you'll walk away with a little more clarity on what's working for you and what's not working for you, what you need to add and what you need to delete. And there is at least 70% of things that are in your life. And I call it editing your life that you need to start removing because it is no longer serving you or even any one of the fab five areas, someone put it in the chat, faith, family, friends, matter of fact, faith is in there. So faith, write it down, faith, family, friends, finances and fitness. What do we need to stop, start and continue? And so here's my little story. You know, I would say, you know, every year and, and hello, congratulations. Today is a new year. Can we embrace that? Can we embrace the new Year? We're starting this, we're declaring that today, June 10th.

I know you might have got some great goodness yesterday, but today I want you to declare this is your new year because you are now stepping into a new phase and we are all in agreement and holding each other accountable for it. Hello, somebody, I'm not trying to preach. That's not my job. I'm just a teacher, but out of the fab five, the one thing that I struggled with was the fitness side and I've lost over £20. Um, even before the pandemic hit. So before the pandemic hit, I lost about £27. And so then, then the pandemic hit and I, and I put that weight back on and it's just been up and down. But what I will share is I was going through this fitness thing in my mind and I, and I'm gonna use some words that's not in the dictionary if that's ok. And I said, you know, let me go get some fitness wear, go to the mall, get some cute fitness wear, get the latest fitness sneakers, you know, get a cute water bottle blinged out, you know, totally from Marshall's for $3. Right. Um, let me get, you know, my, let me get my special water le le me. So I wanted to have this Jimmy look, this, that's not a word in the dictionary, but this Jimmy look because I said, Lucinda, you gotta put your mindset into fitness.

Fitness is your thing regardless of your size age. Uh, weight, fitness to me is all about health. And for me, I couldn't walk up two flights of stairs without feeling like I smoke cigarettes and I don't smoke cigarettes. Right? Without feeling as if, you know, somebody called fire Marshall Bill, you know, on staircase number two. But, um, I wanted to get into this fitness out of my fab fab five. I wanted to work on this stop start and continue in that phase. And I wanted to look, Jimmy, I thought if I spent all the money and spend this money at this expensive gym. Now, I will push myself to go. Ladies. What do you think happened? I, I wasted my money over a year in the membership. Probably attended twice because the gym wasn't for me to connect with my fitness. So what do you need to stop start and continue? What did I need to do was look at Lucinda, what do you like to do? What brings you joy? So, for everyone else in the world who's doing their fitness journey, maybe it's having this whole gym fit. Look and that's their thing. I personally don't wanna do burpees. I don't wanna do crunches. I don't want. But what I do love to do is dance. I love movement. I love motion. I love learning new things. So I signed up for salsa dancing, salsa dancing, changed my life, slimmed my back down, worked my abs, my legs began to get stronger. That was more of a workout for me. And it was exciting.

I also had to change my goal and say Lucinda, instead of trying to lose £20 let's lose £2. Celebrate the fact that you no cheat days, right? But give yourself some grace. Get to £2 and celebrate that a lot of times we don't celebrate even our small success. And then we say, you know what I am on this fitness journey. I'm trying to lose £20. I've only lost two. Don't discredit the two, the two is worth the celebration. I wish I had my pom poms here. Who, who the two is worth the celebration. And so I had to look at fitness in a different view and then in a different perspective and so where I would get ridiculed and judged, oh, you said you were going to go to the gym and you know, you didn't, you didn't go to the gym or what are you doing? You're just lazy. No. what was for me was learning to dance. What was for me was to go? Don't judge me. Come closer. Yeah, ready. Don't judge me. I did pole fitness. I hope you can hear me. Pole fitness dancing that changed the game. It helped me tap into my femininity ladies. And so when I did the pole fitness um workout, it was great because before every time we did any pole work, we would do certain exercises and workout. When I tell you my under, under the arms were hurting, my arms were hurting, my hands were hurting, my neck was hurting, my back was hurting, my sides were hurting, my legs were hurting my toes. I would get in the car like, 00 gosh.

But guess what it did, it tapped into me and my movements and I just became so free with myself. Do you know how that translates into your person into your professional life as well? You give yourself permission by saying this doesn't work for me. This may work for everyone else. Everyone here has a secret sauce to success in the way that you live. We have never been here before. This is our first go around. I know we've heard from people from space and all over. But if you know that this is your first time here on earth, give yourself some grace by activating your life and looking at what in the F fab five areas you want to be stronger in moving forward before the end of the year. So by December 31st, we should either be stronger faith or in all five. But take it one by one ladies. I know we like to take the whole elephant but faith, family, friends, finances or fitness, pick your area, pick what speaks to you and then celebrate yourselves. Everyone pull out your phones, pull out your phone, go straight to your calendar, go straight to your calendar. I want everybody to go straight to their calendar. Pick, go to your calendar, go to the months. I want you to go to the month. We're in the end of June. Now when you're ready, say ready. And here's the thing. When it comes to the activation, it's a button that's pressed. You have to look at what buttons you need to press so that you can grow in the other areas in your life.

All it takes is one shift to create this snowball effect in your life. Believe it or not. I talk to women, thousands of women in all different corporate upper level management starters, I talk to them all and, and listen, the one thing that we are all challenged with is having so much, uh, that we give out of our cup and not enough that we even take a sip from for ourselves.

We have a habit. I call, there's something called write this down in time. People don't worry, I'm gonna get back to the calendar we have in the time people, or through time, people in time people, or through time people, your in time people are the ones who are spontaneous. Those are the ones who operate and, and this is based on my experience and observation. I'm nowhere near a doctor. I'm not doing a doctoral thesis. I'm just going based off talking to at least over 60,000 women, maybe even more than that. Right? But um, in time or through time, I'm gonna help you out with this. So as an in time person, as an in time woman, and you're looking to activate your life in any one of the five areas so that it can create a snowball effect in the rest of your life. The one thing that in time people are challenged with, they're spontaneous and they may seem, and they go off the fly. They really don't like to the structure or the discipline. Nothing wrong with them.

There's here, here's the thing, there's no negative or positive in what I'm saying, it just is what it is, right? And how it works for you. Uh And as an in time person, what happens is they oftentimes are seen as someone who just wings it, someone who is like a so is a butterfly, you know, someone who is free flowing and oftentimes can be looked at someone who is not prepared and not ready. You have your through time. People stickler for time. Oftentimes they over analyze you in time. People, they, you know what, they brush a lot of things off their shoulders. They also wear their emotions on their sleeve, but they are great at covering it up. They don't hold boundaries because they don't have boundaries for themselves. They oftentimes fall into people pleasing. So now the through time, individuals, those are the people who overanalyze often deal with trust issues because they've been let down so many times because they hold people at such a high regard. And so when they're let down, they shut down, trust is over through time. People are on time and when I say on time, they are there before the time, they are there 30 minutes, an hour before everything begins. They are the ones that sitting at the live event in the corner working on something else to be ready.

They're the ones that uh get bent out of shape when things don't flow according to how they were told. So if you tell them three o'clock and it's now 310, they're losing their minds with an end time person. May seem a little bit too nonchalant. It's great to be a balance of two. I want you to type in the chat. Do you feel like you're an in time person or a through time person? Why does this matter is because if you're an in time person, how is that working for you? And how is it working against if you're a through time person, how is that working for you? And how is it working against whether it's in your professional life or your personal life? It also depends on how you show up for opportunities. It also depends on how you show up and prepare. And it also, and it also shows how you manage life because sometimes some of you are not willing to press the activate button because you're waiting and you need a full blueprint, you need to know the start the middle and the finish and then you may and, and as a through time person, you may wanna practice, let me be willing to make mistakes and learn along the way and trust the process.

Now, as an end time person, they may say, you know what I wing it, everything's gonna be all right, Akuna Matata that may not work when you're looking to get a great contract or a sponsorship or an amazing opportunity because they need to know what's the plan, what's the process.

And so if you know that you're on the other side as an end time, you may wanna take and operate from. Let me get up earlier, let me show up early. Let me not wait. I'm talking to my mom's there. Let me not wait till the toilet tissue or the paper towels run out. Let me order in advance as an end time person, you know, you may be the one that needs to go out and, and, and have a structured day. What do you uh for a, a season for a period of time just to add some structure in your life, right? So you're not winging it and running off of adrenaline and pressure through time, people may need to exercise being more spontaneous when it comes to activating their life. R you know, not everything needs to go on the calendar. Why are you putting Nana's visit on the calendar?

Just go see her after you get the groceries through time? People are the individuals who need to order the groceries so that they can be delivered, you know, and so this will help when you look at as an in time person or through time person, find a balance, but see which side you need to embrace more of. Does that make sense? Yes. Yes and yes in the chat and we're gonna go straight to our calendars because I got something good for y'all. Yes. OK. I love the dialogue in here and I love how we can support. So those who put in time, connect with a through time, those who put through time connect with an end time. I want you to hold each other accountable for the next 30 days. Hit them up right in the chat. Find them in their DM. Hopefully everybody has their bios together cause through time individuals, I bet you they've got it laid out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Through, through time, individuals probably got this all laid out. All right. So you got your calendars. Yes. Pick a date on the, in the calendar.

Not your birthday, not an anniversary, not the day you got divorced, not the day you got married. Uh Not the day you got the job. Nothing again. I want you to randomly pick a day on the calendar between now and December 31st of 2020. When you're done, say done. Randomly pick a date through time. Please do not look at your schedule in time. People, please look at your schedule, but seriously, look at your calendar and I want you to randomly pick any day on this calendar when you're done. Say done. OK, that's the day you're going to celebrate. That's the day you're gonna celebrate that you've activated. That's the day that you're gonna celebrate, that you've picked at least one out of the fab five to step up and, and take charge in your life because there's some things that you've identified that you need to stop start and continue. So my name is Lucinda Cross. And the three things that I want you to take away today is the stop start and continue. In one of the fab five areas. Be willing to push the activate button on whether uh you are in time person or through time person. Flip the switch, try it out for a little while and then the key and the last one is to celebrate yourself. Activation. Dopamine is your friend. I want you to celebrate a success, a small success. You £2. You saving an extra $200.

You setting a boundary and sticking to your no, whatever it is. Activation and activating your life requires you to step up first for your life. Sip from your own cup. I want you to start taking big gulps. You see how big this teacup is? Totally ridiculous. But when you look at it in your life, stop giving everybody what's inside.
