⚡️ Save the date: Women in Tech Global Conference 2024 will take place on April 23-25

Are you excited to speak at the Women in Tech Global Conference and what motivated you to join our community of 100 000 women in tech, minorities, and allies?

I am truly honored and excited to be a part of the Women in Tech Global Conference. Your community of 100,000 strong women, minorities, and allies is an incredible force, and it is truly inspiring to see such a diverse group rallying together for a brighter future in tech. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to join this wonderful community and share my insights, experience, and (hopefully) a few laughs along the way!

Share with us about your background, your journey in tech, and what inspired you to develop your career in this direction.

From a tender age, I've been captivated by technology and its seemingly magical ability to shape the world around us. So much so, that my loved ones would often jokingly scold me for my unwavering focus on food and tech (a delightful pairing that continues to fuel my enthusiasm today). My fascination with futurism, the transformative power of technology, and human behavior has persisted throughout my life. And, as the self-proclaimed "biggest sci-fi geek" on this lovely blue planet, I've always been drawn to the allure of exploring the unknown.

When it came time to chart my career path, it felt like a natural choice to gravitate toward areas such as neuroscience, behavioral economics, techno-anthropology, computing, and AI. These fields offered the perfect blend of my passions and interests, allowing me to not only indulge in my love for all things futuristic but also contribute to the ongoing evolution of technology and its impact on human behavior.

In retrospect, I feel incredibly fortunate to have followed my heart and pursued a career that has allowed me to explore the rich and complex relationship between technology and humanity. And who knows – maybe someday, I'll even find a way to revolutionize the world of food with AI (now that would be a tasty treat for my inner child)!

Why is the topic “Minds unleashed - Harnessing the Power of Generative AI” important to you?

The topic "Minds Unleashed - Harnessing the Power of Generative AI" holds a special significance for me, as I've been immersed in the study of emerging technology for over two decades now – a fact that makes me feel like a wise (and slightly vintage) tech sage! In my observations, I've discerned three distinct archetypes of people, each with their unique approach to embracing (or not embracing) technological advancements:

The Skeptics - This group tends to dismiss or downplay the significance of emerging technologies, often allowing themselves to be left behind in the rapid march of progress. They might be hesitant to change, fear the unknown, or simply prefer the comfort of familiar, traditional methods.

The Pioneers - These individuals recognize the potential in new technologies and eagerly harness them to forge ahead, carving out thriving careers and driving innovation. They are the risk-takers and visionaries who lead the charge into uncharted territories, shaping the future as they go.

The Misguided Enthusiasts - This group, while eager to adopt new technology, often struggles with its appropriate and effective use. They may be prone to implementing technology without fully understanding its capabilities, limitations, or best practices. As a result, the true potential of these tools often remains untapped, and opportunities for meaningful impact are squandered.

Generative AI, in my view, is one of the most powerful cognitive prosthetics available to humanity so far. It's like an intellectual exoskeleton that can boost our problem-solving and creative abilities. As a passionate advocate for generative AI, my mission is to ensure that as many people as possible understand and use this powerful tool correctly, unlocking its full potential to revolutionize the way we live, work, and interact with the world around us.

By spreading awareness and promoting the proper utilization of generative AI, I believe we can help bridge the gap between the three aforementioned groups, ultimately fostering a more knowledgeable and empowered society that harnesses the true potential of this groundbreaking technology.
